Why are new volunteer applicants required to pay a Volunteer Deposit?

Shambhala needs each and every one of its volunteers to be fully committed.

We need to ensure that you’re going to show up and do the job that you’ve agreed to do. While we’d love to trust everyone that signs up, the Volunteer Deposit is in place because of people not fulfilling their commitments in the past.

We don’t want your money--we would much rather give it back to you. So please show up on time, stay on task, and don’t break any rules.

The successful returning crew are not required to pay a Volunteer Deposit.
